My story
Daniel Teodoro is an award-winning Peruvian-American media composer based in Los Angeles, known for his energetic orchestral and hybrid synth style and incorporation of rare world music instruments. His work in the Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Documentary genres has been in heard in multiple film festivals including Slam Dance, New York Shorts, LA Shorts, Flickers RIIFF, and RNCI Film Festival. Daniel recently created a full orchestral score, recorded by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, for the upcoming animation Starchaser, and blended traditional Japanese folk instruments with cello for the stop-motion animated fantasy The Fox.
Daniel has provided musical support and music preparation services for Los Angeles composers including Nicolas Repetto ("Empire Queen: The Golden Age of Magic"), David Bertok ("Chef's Table") and Cliff Eidelman ("Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country"). Daniel conducted a full 80-piece orchestra in a performance of his original work at The Soraya Center.
Daniel was raised in Los Angeles and Peru, where his love of music was sparked by his immersion into traditional Peruvian/Andean folk music. This passion developed into collecting instruments and studying traditional music styles from many parts of the world, which he often incorporates into his scoring projects. He studied classical guitar and orchestration at Cal State Northridge, where was awarded The World Music Award for incorporating the indigenous Quechua language into western classical forms.
